About Bianca

My name is Bianca van Veen and I was born in the Netherlands. Here, I'd like to tell you more about my passion for painting pets and what drives me. I'm a Dutch realist fine painter, and I'm ready to immortalize your beloved pet on canvas. I've been painting for many years, initially primarily with watercolor and later with acrylic and oil paint. I learned realistic fine oil painting at the Art Partout Academy for Realist Painting in the Netherlands and am still working on mastering more techniques from the old masters.
Besides painting pets, I also paint other (wild) animals with the same passion. I depict the look in their eyes and their unique coats with great enthusiasm.

The love for pets

I've always had pets and consider them as an important part of the family. Capturing a pet in a painting is always a wonderful experience. I work with oil or acrylic paint, applying multiple layers to capture the fur as realistically as possible. My goal is to bring your pet's unique character to life through the use of pose, light, toys, and background color.
On the left is a photo of our dog, whom we adopted from the shelter and who has now become indispensable to us. We also have three sweet older cats. All the pets live together in perfect harmony, and that's wonderful to witness every day.

What makes my paintings special?

My love for animals is what makes my paintings special. I understand what a pet means to its owner and the special bond between them. With a lot of time, attention, and feeling, I create a unique and personal portrait that you will cherish forever.

My way of working

To create an expressive and vibrant portrait, I take my time. I work with multiple photos of your pet to best capture its character. We'll discuss your wishes together, ensuring the painting perfectly reflects your ideas and your pet's personality. During the painting process, I'll regularly send updates and ask for feedback, ensuring the painting fully meets your expectations. The result is a unique work of art you'll enjoy for years to come.
Please also clearly indicate any deadlines for the painting's completion. For example, is it for a birthday, Sinterklaas, or other special occasion?
For an acrylic painting, I need approximately four weeks for A3 and A4 sizes. For an oil painting, I need approximately eight weeks for these sizes due to the longer drying time.

"The passion and dedication with which Bianca painted my dog is truly special. The painting is a beautiful reminder of my loyal friend."
